The
new offices, shop and nature center for Mitchell County
was started in the fall of 1998. Employees moved in March
of 1999 and development of the site is an ongoing process.
The nature center is home to several displays of wildlife
mounts, such as otter, coyote, birds of prey, wild turkey,
great blue heron, pheasant and area fish, such as northern
pike, bass and walleye.
An aquarium of live fish, found in Mitchell County, and
a live working bee hive are the newest additions.
Building hours are: Tues
through Fri 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m.- 4 p.m.
